The Friends of the Holt House kicked off a major fund raising effort in March 2012 with a free bean soup and cornbread supper. 

The Friends of the Holt Home committee set its first goal to reach $40,000 by the 2012 community day which was September 22. The committee was seeking 400 friends who each would be willing to give a minimum of $100. There were and still are various levels of sponsorship for which recognition will be received. The donors will be recognized on signage displayed at the various events which are being planned.
